About The Position

Responsible for supervision of Family Care Counselors, providing training and guidance in case management activities and court functions.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work or a related field from an accredited college or university, and two years experience in counseling/case management OR a Bachelor's Degree in Counseling, Social Work or a related field from an accredited college or university, and four years experience in counseling/case management.
  • Meet training requirements stipulated by the Florida Certification Board (FCB) for a Child Welfare Case Manager.
  • Clear a Level II background screening.
  • Clear a reference check (professional and personal).
  • Clear a local background check from Alachua County and the County in which you reside.
  • Clear a drug screen.
  • Provide a copy of your educational attainment on your first day of employment.
  • Clear a Motor Vehicles Records check.
  • Provide proof of your auto insurance and maintain a minimum personal auto bodily injury liability insurance.
  • Clear an E-Verify check to substantiate that the successful candidate meets the Department of Homeland Security authorization requirements to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily activities of a team of five Family Services Counselors and one Support Worker.
  • Oversee caseloads, schedules, and individual staffing assignments.
  • Review legal reports, documents, logs, and other records.
  • Provide individualized training on tasks and assignments.
  • Assist and provide guidance on complex dependency cases.
  • Assist with arrangements for emergency placement with at risk children.
  • Approve invoices for client services, i.e. drug testing, evaluations, psychological testing, and counseling.
  • Approve relative and non-relative home studies for potential placement of children.
  • Attend court hearings as needed.
  • Act as liaison between JFCS and other agencies.
  • Ensure proper case staffing and management.
  • Participate in staff development training activities and case staffings.
  • Participate in interviews.
  • Complete qualitative supervisory reviews every 90 days for 100% of cases.
  • Complete follow up reviews on 100% of cases.
  • Track performance measures compliance and implement disciplinary actions when required.
  • Complete assignments by given deadlines.
  • Evaluate staff performance.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
  • Prepare activities reports (monthly, quarterly, and annually).
  • Transfer and accept cases.
  • Participate in the selection and hiring of staff.
  • Conduct FSFN corrections, as needed.
  • Transport clients in personal vehicle, if necessary.
