About The Position

Northern Tier Counseling (NTC) is seeking both a Family Based Mental Health Professional and a Family Based Mental Health Worker to join their Family Based Mental Health Program. NTC is a local non-profit organization serving the region since 1993, dedicated to helping children and families in the community. Family Based services are delivered through the Ecosystemic Structural Family Therapy (ESFT) Model and other evidence-based interventions, provided within the home, school, and community to help children and families remain safely together and achieve treatment goals. The Mental Health Professional serves as the lead therapist, while the Mental Health Worker functions as a co-therapist and support clinician. Together, they provide intensive family-focused services designed to strengthen relationships, improve family functioning, and connect families with needed community resources. Northern Tier Counseling also participates in Pennsylvania's Behavioral Health Education Program (BHHEP), offering paid internship opportunities and student loan repayment/forgiveness programs for eligible students and graduates.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Human Services, Social Work, Counseling, Nursing, Education, or a related field; or
• Bachelor's degree with at least 12 college-level credits in social sciences or human services; or
• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN).
• Valid driver's license required.
• Must be able to travel throughout the service area.
• Position may require use of a personal vehicle.
• Ability to occasionally lift or carry up to 10 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Graduate degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Nursing, Education, or another Human Services field.
• Two years of related clinical or behavioral health experience.
• Knowledge of psychotherapy modalities, family systems, and behavioral health treatment.
• Ability to function as the lead therapist within the Family Based team.

Responsibilities

• Participate in screening, assessment, treatment planning, treatment reviews, and discharge planning.
• Provide family, individual, and group interventions as appropriate.
• Deliver services in home, school, office, and community settings.
• Establish positive, therapeutic relationships with assigned families.
• Assist families in identifying strengths, needs, resources, and treatment goals.
• Conduct family interviews and gather psychosocial and social history information.
• Coordinate referrals and link families to community resources and services.
• Collaborate with schools, community agencies, and other service providers.
• Participate in treatment team staffing and case consultations.
• Maintain timely, accurate documentation in NTC's Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
• Attend required trainings, conferences, meetings, supervision, and staff development activities.
• Participate in a 24-hour emergency on-call rotation.
• Provide support and backup coverage to other Family Based team members as needed.
• Complete productivity reports and other administrative responsibilities as assigned.
