About The Position

Family-Based Intensive Treatment (FIT) Family Partner is a new service within JRI's Community Service Agencies that provides a combination of medically necessary intensive family therapy, robust care coordination, and Family Partner engagement for eligible youth with serious emotional disturbance (SED) and their families. The role focuses on improving the youth’s mental health concerns, while strengthening the family structure and support. Staff provide the FIT service in home and community settings and facilitate a consistent, strength-based therapeutic relationship with the families served.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Minimum of an associate’s degree in a human services field and 1 year of experience working with the target population; or a high school diploma/GED and 2 years of experience working with the target population.
  • Lived experience as a parent or caregiver of a youth with emotional, behavioral or learning challenges and experience accessing systems for support for your child’s needs.
  • Maintains a valid driver’s license.
  • Background checks and driving checks will be performed.

Nice To Haves

  • Speak a second language fluently, other than English (eligible for $2,000 bilingual bonus).

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a team to support the delivery of strength-based peer-to-peer education, coaching, role modeling, guidance, and support services.
  • Utilize caregiving experiences to enhance the lives of youth who are presenting with difficult and challenging behaviors, and their families.
  • Support families in navigating multiple systems of care and enable parents and caregivers to learn effective advocacy skills.
  • Support the clinical care of youth and their families in a home and community-based setting, effectively promoting improved family functioning.
