About The Position

Requirements

• A valid Illinois Type 09 certification.
• Family Consumer Science endorsement.
• May also include Apparel and Textiles, Living Environments, Nutrition, Wellness, and Hospitality endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Planning and Preparation: Demonstrates knowledge of content and pedagogy, knowledge of students, selects instructional goals, demonstrates knowledge of resources, designs coherent instruction, and assesses student learning.
• The Classroom Environment: Creates an environment of respect and rapport, establishes a culture for learning, manages classroom procedures, manages student behavior, and organizes physical space.
• Instruction: Communicates clearly and accurately, uses questioning and discussion techniques, engages students in learning, provides feedback to students, and demonstrates flexibility and responsiveness.
• Professional Responsibilities: Reflects on teaching, maintains accurate records, communicates with families, contributes to the school and district, shows professionalism, and grows and develops professionally.
