About The Position

Empower Families. Build Connections. Transform Communities. As a Family Advocate, you'll serve as a trusted support and resource person for Early Head Start families by developing trusting relationships with parents using Head Start Relationship-Based Competencies. You will plan and implement prenatal, family, and child development curriculum, organize parent socialization events and groups to enhance parent-child bonds, and provide comprehensive case management and social service coordination. You will ensure children's special education, health, mental health, and nutritional needs are met, serve as a liaison to community agencies and resources, and support family self-sufficiency and social competency development. Additionally, you will foster parent involvement and family growth opportunities and collaborate with Home Based Managers, Nurses, and Mental Health Consultants. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Early Childhood, Social Work, Counseling, or Nursing
  • Minimum 3 years working with low-income, multicultural families
  • Demonstrated experience in family support, mental health support, case management, and advocacy
  • Valid Wisconsin Driver's License with adequate insurance

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree preferred
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred
  • Knowledge of community development and family self-sufficiency approaches
