About The Position

The Family Advocate position at Head Start (Darrough Chapel ELC) is a 35-hour per week role, operating for 186 days (9.5 months) per year. The hourly rate is $25.00. This role involves maintaining an assigned caseload, conducting social service home visits, reviewing family needs assessments, and developing family partnership agreements. The advocate will identify and follow up on social service needs of assigned families, participate in the enrollment process, and attend necessary trainings. A key aspect of the role is supporting the program's structure related to governance, community partners, family committees, family engagement activities, and family recognition. Some nighttime programming is required.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in social work or related field required.
Must possess a valid Indiana driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

Social service experience with family and children preferred.
Computer and technology background preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintain assigned caseload.
Complete social service home visits as needed.
Review Head Start Family Needs Assessment with assigned families and initiate developing a Family Partnership Agreement.
Identify and follow-up any social service needs of assigned Head Start families.
Participate in enrollment process and attend trainings as needed.
Learn and abide by the mandatory Performance Standards and Head Start Act 2007.
Support program structure related to Governance, Community Partners, Family Committees, Family Engagement activities, and/or Family of Distinction Recognition.
Participate in some nighttime programming.
