About The Position

The Salvation Army's Door of Hope Program is a 25-unit scattered-site program serving families experiencing homelessness. Through the Rapid Rehousing (RRH) model, families work closely with a Housing Specialist to address barriers to securing housing, such as poor credit, prior evictions, or outstanding rental debt. Participants receive time-limited rental assistance and ongoing, housing-focused case management tailored to their individual needs, with an emphasis on addressing financial and housing challenges proactively to prevent future instability with the Family Advocate. The Housing Specialist and Family Advocate also serves as a liaison between tenants and landlords and other housing resources to support successful tenancy and housing retention. The Door of Hope Rapid Rehousing Program is funded through the HUD Continuum of Care (CoC) Program. The Door of Hope Family Advocate provides housing-focused case management to families experiencing homelessness, supporting their transition into safe, stable, and permanent housing. This role includes assisting with housing placement, coordinating supportive services, and providing ongoing follow-up to promote long term housing stability. The Family Advocate works collaboratively with the Door of Hope Housing Stabilization Specialist to ensure each family receives respect, person-centered, and trauma informed services aimed at resolving their housing crisis and supporting progress toward self-sufficiency. This position is grant-funded and contingent upon the continuation of funding. Please note that this role requires frequent travel.
