The GlaxoSmithKline US Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) organization is responsible for delivery of key DMPK support (in vitro, pharmacokinetic, and bioanalytical) to help drive drug discovery and development programs. Within that structure, the US disposition team is responsible for delivering mechanistic ADME support for both small and large (mAb, oligos) modalities with a focus on high quality. A key remit of DMPK is to characterize ADME (absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion) properties, predict human pharmacokinetics, assess drug–drug interaction risks, and support safe and effective dose selection for clinical development. As a DMPK intern, you will gain hands-on experience in understanding the ADME profile of drugs, and to conduct in vitro assays to support small and large modalities (ADC, oligos etc).
