About The Position

The primary responsibility of this position is to maintain, repair, and/or replace parts of machinery as discovered during PM’s or in case of breakdowns during operation to keep the Feed Mill operating at maximum capacity. The feed mill maintenance mechanic must be able to perform preventative maintenance on feed mill related equipment, as well as repair and install equipment as necessary. Maintenance mechanics must be able to detect potential mechanical and electrical problems, maintain the required written records including work performed, corrective actions, and installed replacement parts. Maintenance mechanics must work in compliance with all Company policies, Local, State, and Federal policies, Laws, and Regulations. Interpret drawings of equipment in order to properly adjust, maintain, or repair machinery. Interpret equipment manuals and establish preventative maintenance programs according to the manufacturers recommendations.

Requirements

• Familiarity with and ability to perform maintenance duties related to single and 3 phase motors: circuitry and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with industrial plumbing: fittings, gauges, pumps, flows, and valves.
• Familiarity with power transmissions: chains, sprockets, bearings, and couplings.
• Familiarity with feed milling equipment: grain elevators, spouting, valves, drag and auger conveyors.
• Familiarity with high pressure boiler operations.
• Familiarity with boiler feed water systems and water treatment.
• Familiarity with welding and cutting: serviceable welds, cutting, and ability to identify various steel.
• Fabrication using various metals.
• Must maintain a working telephone at their residence.
• Must be available to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as needed to perform scheduled and unscheduled repairs.
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• Minimum 1-2 years industrial maintenance experience.
