About The Position

Utilizes religious education and/or experience to provide compassionate, faith-informed spiritual and emotional support to patients, families, and staff within the hospital setting, functioning within their specific religious or faith tradition. May offer presence, prayer, sacraments and pastoral conversation to people of specific faith traditions who are seeking comfort, meaning, or connection during times of illness, crisis, or transition.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Completion of Theological Studies, Religious and or Ministerial Studies, required.
• Ordination/Endorsement from a Faith Group/Spiritual/Religious Organization stating qualifications/good standing for a role requiring ministerial standards in a healthcare setting, required.
• 0-1 years of relevant experience, required.

Responsibilities

• Assists in delivering religious, faith, and spiritual support to patients, family caregivers and team members, as assigned.
• Responds timely to requests for faith-informed spiritual and emotional support.
• Participates in offering religious, traditional, spiritual and sacramental rites, rituals and practices.
• Participates in offering religious and/or worship experiences; facilitates the celebration of sacraments and holidays as appropriate.
• Assists in the coordination of clergy and pastoral visitors from the religious community.
• Attend departmental and site-based meetings and other relevant events.
• Document and maintain records as required.
• Operates with direct guidance and work assignments are generally straightforward and of moderate complexity.
