Collaborating closely with global teams, you will dive deep to uncover the root causes of complex product challenges. Working in a lab environment, you will leverage your scientific and engineering knowledge, along with cutting-edge equipment. Understand the failure background and design creative investigation plans. Conduct investigations, including but not limited to operating a variety of advanced material and chemistry analysis tools. Report findings and actively participate in discussions and debates with colleagues to determine next steps, conclusions, and corrective actions. Present data in global meetings and executive reviews.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Polymer Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experienced in using chemistry analysis tools such as FTIR, GC-MS, ToF-SIMS, etc.
  • Fluent in English with strong communication skills, including the ability to seek direction, listen to feedback, and convey complex findings concisely and understandably.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, adapt seamlessly to shifting business priorities, and rapidly master new analytical techniques.
  • Highly organized with a proven ability to balance and manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional collaborative skills, with a proven ability to partner seamlessly across global, cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Willingness to leverage AI-assisted analytics tools to identify defect issues, and accelerate root cause analysis.

Nice To Haves

  • Industry experience or specialized failure analysis expertise in any of the following domains: consumer electronics, batteries, adhesives, coatings, plastics, or plating.
