About The Position
The Center for Vaccine Development and Global Health (CVD) at the University of Maryland School of Medicine (UMSOM) seeks applications for a faculty member with expertise in structure based vaccine design with a focus on viral targets. The CVD comprises a multi-disciplinary team of 32 full-time faculty and 114 staff whose mission is to develop, evaluate, and implement vaccines and other interventions to reduce illness and mortality domestically and internationally. The CVD works to prevent and treat enteric and respiratory diseases, to reduce the threat of malaria and antimicrobial resistance, and to identify, understand, and combat other tropical and emerging pathogens (SARS-CoV-2, Dengue, Ebola, Zika, Anthrax, Smallpox, Mpox, and others) in impoverished settings. Training is a critical component of the Center’s work, as is CVD’s commitment to providing the foundation for the next generation of vaccinologists and global health scientists and researchers committed to CVD’s mission.
