Faculty Professor - Full-Time
About The Position
The Department of Pediatrics of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine is recruiting for Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor positions in the appointment (non-tenure) stream. These positions are open to applicants with a doctoral-level degree in medicine (MD, DO), who are board certified or board eligible, qualified for medical licensure in Pennsylvania, and meet the minimum credentials for their pediatric specialty. Responsibilities will encompass patient care, teaching, and research, as directed by the chairman and division chief. The rank and salary will be commensurate with experience and academic credentials. Specific rank requirements include 1-6 years of experience for Assistant Professors with demonstrated academic progress, 7-10 years for Associate Professors with significant academic progress, and 10+ years for Professors with demonstrated leadership, academic excellence, and innovation.
Requirements
- Doctoral-level degree in medicine (MD, DO).
- Board certified or board eligible.
- Qualified for medical licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
- Meet minimum position credentials for the pediatric specialty.
- Assistant Professor: 1-6 years of experience with demonstrated academic progress/contributions.
- Associate Professor: 7-10 years of experience with significant demonstrated academic progress/contributions.
- Professor: 10 or more years of experience with clear demonstration of leadership, academic excellence and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical service in a pediatric subspecialty.
- Engage in patient care.
- Participate in teaching activities.
- Conduct research as determined by the chairman and associated division chief.
