About The Position

The Oregon Health & Science University - Knight Cancer Institute, a pioneer in personalized cancer medicine, is an international leader in research and cancer treatment. The Division of Hematology & Medical Oncology has over 110 faculty and is comprised of programs in general hematology, solid tumor oncology, bone marrow transplant & cellular therapy, hematological malignancies, and palliative medicine. Located in Portland, Oregon, OHSU offers a collaborative atmosphere within a comprehensive healthcare-focused university. This role is expected to be comprised of clinical, teaching, research/academic, and inpatient service components.

Requirements

  • MD OR MD/PhD
  • Licensed to practice medicine in Oregon
  • Board certified in Internal Medicine
  • Board eligible/certified in Hematology and or/Medical Oncology

Nice To Haves

  • Proven success working with multi-disciplinary teams
  • History of specialized training and clinical experience focused on the care of patients with thoracic malignancies, including lung and head & neck cancers.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the education of medical students and house staff.
  • Care of patients with lung cancer.
  • Establish and maintain a program of scholarly activity directed toward improved understanding of the causes, detection and treatment of lung cancer.
  • Participate in administrative committees and councils of the OHSU.
  • Engage in public service through consultative activities with non-university groups.
