The West Virginia University School of Medicine Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences seeks a board-eligible/board-certified Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialist for an exciting opportunity in Morgantown, West Virginia. The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences was established to advance the health and wellbeing of the women of West Virginia and the surrounding region. Our faculty are nationally respected, board certified, and committed to providing quality healthcare services to all women; educating healthcare providers; and conducting research to advance our understanding of Obstetrics and Gynecology. We are recognized for our care of women with high-risk pregnancies and advanced gynecologic problems. Our high-risk pregnancy physicians are backed by the largest NICU in the state, while our gynecologic surgeons are trained in advanced minimally invasive and robotic surgery. Responsibilities

  • Provide care in a high-volume setting with complex, high-risk obstetric cases, including referrals from across the region and beyond.
  • Engage in cutting-edge research and contribute to clinical advancements at a leading academic medical center.
  • Work alongside WVU School of Medicine students and residents to help shape future healthcare clinicians.
  • Use advanced imaging techniques to accurately diagnose babies with birth defects prenatally and connect parents with neonatologists and pediatric subspecialists when needed.
  • Develop a treatment plan specific to each patient's unique situation.
  • Provide care and counseling before pregnancy begins (preconception care) for women who have increased medical, surgical, or genetic risks.
  • Provide integrated care for chronic conditions during pregnancy, including cancer, heart disease, high blood pressure, pre-eclampsia and hypertensive disorders, diabetes or endocrine disorders, gestational diabetes, kidney disease, infectious diseases, gastrointestinal disorders, and rheumatologic diseases.
  • Manage obstetric complications including preterm labor and premature birth, multiple gestation, fetal growth disorders, and recurrent pregnancy loss.
  • Offer routine care across a wide spectrum including breast health, bone health, cancer care, infertility, internal medicine, mental health, menopause and midlife, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, neurology, newborn medicine, and primary care, among other specialties.
