About The Position

The Oregon Health & Science University - Knight Cancer Institute is a leader in personalized cancer medicine and research. The Division of Hematology & Medical Oncology, the largest component of the Knight Cancer Institute, focuses on providing outstanding patient care, ensuring access to clinical trials, and integrating basic research. The Division is experiencing significant growth and is located in Portland, Oregon, offering a collaborative atmosphere within a comprehensive healthcare-focused university. The appointee will provide services as assigned by their supervisor, contributing to the university's missions in teaching, research, patient care, outreach, and public service. They will be a member of the Adult Blood & Marrow Transplant & Cellular Therapy Programs within the Division of Hematology & Medical Oncology.

Requirements

  • MD OR MD/PhD
  • Licensed to practice medicine in Oregon
  • Board certified in Internal Medicine
  • Board eligible/certified in Hematology and/or Medical Oncology

  • Proven success in collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • History of success in obtaining extramural funds for clinical trials and/or basic science research.

Responsibilities

  • Daily clinical management of inpatient bone marrow/hematologic malignancy patients, with an emphasis on allogeneic & autologous transplant recipients and patients receiving immune effector cell therapy (CAR T-cells, TILS, etc.).
  • Shared responsibility for on-call coverage.
  • Case conferencing with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Coordination of teaching rounds with Fellows and House-staff assigned to the inpatient service.
  • Fostering collaborative relationships with referring physicians and organizations.
  • Cooperation with clinical trial and data management/registry teams.
  • Development and participation in clinical trials.
  • Participation in the education of medical students and house staff.
