About The Position

Grand Canyon University is seeking a Full-Time Faculty Member for Pediatrics in their College of Nursing and Health Care Professions. This role involves providing program instruction using innovative teaching methodologies and technologies, with a focus on preparing the next generation of nurses and healthcare professionals. The university is particularly interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity of the academic community. The position is based in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) required.
• Minimum of 2 years’ recent work experience in pediatric nursing.
• An active, current, and unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the state of New Mexico or a compact state.
• Evidence of involvement in one’s professional area (e.g., membership in professional organizations, presentations, research, and/or publications).
• Must successfully pass a drug test.
• Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission of Grand Canyon University.

Nice To Haves

• Prior teaching experience at the collegiate level preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reinforce didactic content and teach in the context of clinical and lab application of knowledge and skills related to pre-licensure Nursing.
• Collaborate with content area faculty to provide expert evaluation and documentation of student progress toward clinical and lab objectives.
• Participate in grading written and Clinical/Lab performance check-offs.
• Maintain lines of communication with program faculty and director, including attendance at select faculty meetings.
• Remain current with new trends and developments in the specific field of nursing practice.
• Maintain compliance with requirements for program accreditation.
• Uphold the tenets of nursing as a holistic profession and the pillars of the University.
• Travel to student clinical sites in the greater Albuquerque area to directly observe student performance.
