About The Position

Grand Canyon University is seeking a Full-Time Faculty Member for Pediatrics within the College of Nursing and Health Care Professions. As a faculty member, you will provide program instruction, incorporating innovative teaching methodologies, cutting-edge technologies, and industry trends. This position is based at the W. Valley ABSN site but requires daily travel within the greater Phoenix area to observe student performance during clinical rotations. The role involves reinforcing didactic content, teaching in clinical and lab settings, collaborating with faculty on student evaluation, and grading performance check-offs. You will also maintain communication with program faculty and the director, stay current with nursing practice trends, and ensure compliance with accreditation requirements. A key aspect of the role is upholding the tenets of nursing and the university's pillars, serving as a positive example to students.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) required.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ work experience in Pediatrics clinical nursing.
  • An active, current, and unencumbered Registered Nurse in the state of AZ or compact state.
  • Must successfully pass a drug test.
  • Participation in and/or support of the university program in all areas including an evident congruence with the philosophy and direction of the institution, and service to the community.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior teaching experience at the collegiate level preferred.
  • Evidence of involvement in one’s professional area (e.g., membership in professional organizations, presentations, research, and/or publications).

Responsibilities

  • Reinforce didactic content and teach in the context of clinical and lab application of knowledge and skills related to pre-licensure Nursing.
  • Collaborate with content area faculty to provide expert evaluation and documentation of student progress toward clinical and lab objectives.
  • Participate in grading written and Clinical/Lab performance check-offs.
  • Preserve lines of communication with program faculty and director, including attendance in select faculty meetings.
  • Remain current with new trends and developments in the specific field of nursing practice.
  • Maintain compliance with requirements for program accreditation.
  • Uphold the tenets of nursing as a holistic profession as well as the pillars of the University.
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
  • Travel to student clinical sites to directly observe student performance.
