About The Position

Grand Canyon University is seeking a part-time Faculty Member for Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioners (AGACNP) within the College of Nursing and Health Care Professions. This role is remote and offers an opportunity to teach and shape the future nurses and healthcare professionals. The position requires teaching prescribed curriculum, facilitating student learning, compiling reading materials, stimulating discussions, and grading assignments and exams. Faculty are expected to stay current with their field and teach the equivalent of two courses per semester, with a requirement to attend six days per year for on-campus student experience events.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree required (MSN)
  • Eighteen (18) hours of graduate study in a field relevant to teach responsibilities
  • Two or more years of relevant nursing/medical experience as a practicing nurse practitioner
  • Unencumbered, unrestricted active current RN Licensure in Arizona or a compact state is required.
  • Board certified ACNP or AGACNP with an active, unencumbered, current, unrestricted license in AZ APRN license
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University

Responsibilities

  • Teach one or more subjects within prescribed curriculum to facilitate and engage students in the learning process
  • Compile bibliographies of specialized materials for outside reading assignments
  • Stimulate class discussions
  • Compile, administer, and grade examinations, or assign this work to others
  • Remain current with new trends and development in his/her field of expertise
  • Required to maintain the equivalent of a two courses per semester
  • Attend six days per year for the AGACNP on campus student experience events.
