About The Position

Kent State University at Stark seeks applications for a full-time, nine-month, non-tenure-track position focused primarily on teaching introductory and foundations courses for the BSN program at the Stark Campus, with the opportunity to teach in other areas depending on program need and instructor qualifications. Advising and mentoring of students to support the recruitment and retention goals for the program. The successful candidate will be expected to teach in a variety of settings including lectures, clinicals, simulations, and skills labs. A willingness to employ teaching modalities beyond in person lecture is required. Candidates must possess strong communication skills and demonstrate a commitment to cultivating an environment of inclusion, mutual respect, and professionalism in nursing.

Requirements

  • Master’s in Nursing or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing with a Master’s in a related field
  • A minimum of two years of clinical experience is required
  • Candidates must hold a current, valid, unencumbered nursing license in the State of Ohio, or a current, valid, unencumbered multistate license that authorizes practice in the State of Ohio
  • Must pass a security check

Nice To Haves

  • A Ph. D in nursing or education is a plus
  • Previous teaching experience is a plus
