About The Position

The Psychology Department at West Chester University (WCU), a member of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education, invites applicants for a Temporary Faculty Instructor position to begin in Fall 2026. WCU is a public, comprehensive institution dedicated to providing high-quality undergraduate education and selected graduate programs. The Psychology Department, within the College of Sciences and Mathematics, aims to advance the discipline of Psychology in a diverse and inclusive environment, emphasizing scholarly, professional, and scientific endeavors. The department focuses on delivering a liberal-arts education that encourages the exchange of ideas from various viewpoints in a respectful, collaborative, and equitable setting, promoting research and scholarship among faculty and students. The Temporary Faculty member will teach graduate-level courses in the Master of Science in Industrial-Organizational Psychology program. Instruction may be delivered in-person, face-to-face, and/or online, depending on program needs. Teaching assignments will vary and may include courses such as Industrial Psychology, Organizational Psychology, Training and Development, Leadership, Research Methods, Statistics, and related topics. The ideal candidate will be committed to high-quality instruction, student success, and the practical application of industrial-organizational psychology in academic and/or professional settings. Appointments are made on a semester-by-semester basis, with a typical workload of up to 9 credits per semester, contingent on departmental needs.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology or a closely related field
  • Demonstrated expertise in Industrial-Organizational Psychology through graduate training, teaching, research, consulting, or professional practice

Nice To Haves

  • Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology or a closely related field
  • Previous college-level teaching experience
  • Experience teaching graduate students
  • Experience teaching in multiple modalities, including but not limited to, face-to-face, blended, and online synchronous & asynchronous format
  • Applied experience in areas such as employee selection and assessment, training and development, leadership development, talent management, organizational development, human resources, or consulting
  • Demonstrated experience providing engaging, inclusive, and student-centered instruction

Responsibilities

  • Teach graduate-level courses in the Master of Science in Industrial-Organizational Psychology program
  • Prepare and deliver course content in face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online formats
  • Assess student learning and provide timely, constructive feedback
  • Maintain course records and submit grades in accordance with university deadlines and policies
  • Foster student engagement and contribute to a supportive learning environment

Benefits

  • Salary per three-credit course is $7,028.19
