We are looking for a Factory Scheduler to join our Pittsburgh (Cheswick) location. Your Responsibilities: The Factory Scheduler role will play a key role within the Operations Planning & Control group, managing project-level prioritization within the Forward Planning/Manufacturing Execution Systems, and ensuring Production Plans and Project Plans are aligned to allow proper operation-level execution of the daily Manufacturing Plan. Short-Range and Long-Range Capacity and Manpower Planning activities will be reviewed with Operations Management to ensure efficient shop execution. Ensure the appropriate amount of factory hours are planned for every product line by reviewing factory utilization, efficiency and rework trends and validating planned hours against actual performance. Analyze routings & historical data to determine and maintain Manufacturing Lead times for all make items for all product lines and ensure routing durations are in-sync with planning lead times. Review Capacity Requirements Planning (CRP) data for factory manpower and capital equipment resources to identify potential constraints, and utilize Theory of Constraints principles to maximize throughput through constrained areas. Develop the overall factory capacity plan and meet regularly with Operations Management to communicate substantial changes to shop loading, providing recommendations for appropriate manpower staffing & equipment acquisitions. Maintain monthly factory headcount & hours forecast. Coordinate with Facilities Management on equipment repairs, preventive maintenance schedules, new equipment installation, & work request prioritization. Collaborate with Project Controls, Planning, Sourcing & Operations to ensure critical path work is being prioritized, provide visibility of status, and push required actions to address issues. Ensure a steady flow of available work to drive shop utilization & efficiency, particularly in capacity constrained areas. Communicate daily with Operations Supervisors and Superintendents on Shop Scheduling activities, providing summarized data and recommendations to resolve prioritization questions and other issues. Assist Operations Planning & Control and other functional groups with recurring and process improvement projects.
