Factory Quality Technician (Microbiologist)
About The Position
Our newest factory, located along the Virginia border, breathes new life into a former brewery, creating an innovative and technologically advanced pet food manufacturing facility. We have transformed the existing structure in Rockingham County to produce leading dry dog and cat food brands, including Purina Pro Plan®, Purina ONE®, and Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets®. As a Factory Quality Technician (Microbiologist), you will be responsible for managing routine microbiological evaluations of the factory production environment and processing systems. You will lead the factory in ensuring that all quality operations aspects are in place and high functioning including, but not limited to verification activities, documentation, and recordkeeping.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- 1+ years of laboratory, quality assurance and/or food manufacturing experience required
Responsibilities
- Oversee factory Pathogen Monitoring Program
- Interact extensively with the operations group and influence, coach, and train all other factory personnel with regards to QA requirements and expectations
- Responsible for the proper use and maintenance of lab equipment including the maintenance, cleaning, and calibration
- Work as a team with other lab associates to achieve shift, department, and factory objectives
