About The Position

The Factory/Quality Manager is the central point of accountability for the entire facility and must frequently wear multiple hats due to the small size of the operation. In addition to driving production and business performance, the leader often plays an active role in workforce management, labor relations, safety, quality, maintenance, and customer service activities. This hands-on leadership approach is essential to ensuring the site remains responsive, efficient, and aligned with business objectives despite limited staffing and resources.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Quality Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience within manufacturing and quality functions.
  • Demonstrated experience with ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily manufacturing operations to achieve safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and financial goals.
  • Drive implementation and sustainment of the SKF Production System and Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Collaborate with Production Planning to establish production strategies and meet customer demand requirements.
  • Monitor and improve on-time delivery, lead time, throughput, and operational efficiencies.
  • Manage inventory levels and manufacturing resources to support operational objectives.
  • Develop and execute plans for capacity, staffing, equipment, and process improvements.
  • Partner with Engineering to improve manufacturing processes, tooling, technology, and product quality.
  • Lead and develop production and quality teams through coaching, training, and performance management.
  • Support business growth, profitability, and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the site's Quality Management System in compliance with ISO 9001, and customer requirements.
  • Establish quality objectives and monitor performance through key quality metrics and management reviews.
  • Lead internal, customer, supplier, accreditation, and regulatory audits.
  • Direct corrective and preventive action activities using structured problem-solving methodologies, including 8D and root cause analysis.
  • Investigate customer complaints, nonconformances, and returns, ensuring effective resolution and prevention.
  • Support development of Control Plans, PFMEA, Process Flow Diagrams, and quality procedures.
  • Ensure calibration, measurement system integrity, and inspection process effectiveness.
