About The Position

The Factory Maintenance Technician A is responsible for performing all phases of maintenance in a safe and professional manner. This role requires a two-year technical school certificate or degree and a minimum of three years of maintenance experience. The technician must be proficient in at least two of the following areas: Electrical, PLC troubleshooting, CNC machine troubleshooting, Mechanical, Fluid Power, Structural, and Plumbing. A key objective is to help create and maintain a Preventive Maintenance Program to achieve less than 5% equipment downtime per month. The job requires climbing and working at various heights and may involve annual training in Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) if hazardous wastes are managed.

Requirements

  • Must have excelled in all phases of Class "B".
  • Must have the ability to help create and maintain a Preventive Maintenance Program on all equipment to maintain our goal of less than 5% downtime a month.
  • Must be Proficient in Electrical, PLC troubleshooting, CNC machine troubleshooting, Mechanical, Fluid Power, Structural, and Plumbing, and must excel in two or more of these areas.
  • Must have a two-year Technical School Certificate or Degree.
  • Must have a minimum of three years of maintenance experience.
  • Must be willing to work any shift with limited or no supervision.
  • Must perform all phases of maintenance in a safe and professional manner.
  • Job requires climbing and working at various heights.
  • May require annual training in Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) training if the job involves managing hazardous wastes.
  • Electrical skills including construction, AC/DC circuits, use of electrical meters and instruments to troubleshoot electrical circuits, reading electrical prints and ladder diagrams.
  • Troubleshooting PLC controllers, including making simple changes and edits and writing simple programs using a laptop computer.
  • Troubleshooting CNC machines, including determination and repair of various problems, installation, and setup of ball screws and servomotors.
  • Mechanical skills including power transmission and gearboxes, bearings, air handling and compressor equipment, material handling equipment, troubleshooting, blueprint, and assembly drawing reading.
  • Fluid Power skills including system installation, hydraulic and pneumatic print reading, and troubleshooting of hydraulic and pneumatic circuits.
  • Structural skills including fabrication, welding (requires certification), cutting, assembly, and installation of equipment with anchoring, leveling, and alignment.
  • Plumbing skills including system installations of copper, stainless steel. carbon steel, welded (requires certification) and threaded pipe installation, pump installation and maintenance, valve installation and maintenance, blueprint reading, and system troubleshooting.
