As a Factory Cost Analyst, you will provide financial and control expertise to the Electrification Installation Products “ELIP” plant in Jonesboro, AR, benchmarking KPIs while working with other finance professionals to understand the drivers of financial performance, identifying trends relevant to the business. Reporting to the Business Unit Controller, you will study business performance, including financial modelling to forecast the impacts and risks, and recommend areas for continuous improvement. Candidates for this position must be able to work an in-person schedule out of the Jonesboro, AR Manufacturing Facility.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a cost accounting or financial analyst role in a factory/manufacturing environment (this manufacturing-relevant experience is required for the position)
  • Experience with computerized accounting systems and financial reporting software, including SAP, LX, Oracle or related financial systems
  • Outstanding attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to multitask
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and demonstrated proficiency with other Microsoft Office products
  • Current work authorization that would permit you to work for ABB in the US

Responsibilities

  • Helping to prepare financial reporting, business planning, budgeting, and forecasting documents and presentations.
  • Analyzing the drivers of financial performance and identify trends.
  • Preparing financial modeling for various “what if” scenarios and the overall impact to the factory.
  • Special focus areas: product/business line profitability, product costing, production variances, over/under-absorption analysis, and inventory analysis.
  • Communicating information to relevant stakeholder groups to support corrective action plans.
  • Ensuring timely and efficient communication with controllers and the relevant peers to identify and discuss issues and suggestions for improvement.
  • Optimizing performance to increase productivity by developing automated solutions, eliminating duplication and coordinating information requirements.
  • Establishing and overseeing processes and tools to obtain transparent and reliable financial data and business information.
  • Maintaining audit trails and documentation for future audits and reviews.
