The Mission: As our Factory Coating Specialist, you bring custom doors to life through expert sanding and precision finishing. You masterfully operate spray guns to apply stain, paint, and clear coats, approaching complex orders with the finesse needed for a flawless, customer-specified result. This is a second shift position that starts at 2:00pm and goes until Midnight every Monday through Thursday.

Requirements

  • Consistently produces doors that meet all surface and aesthetic standards (smooth sanding, uniform stain, and flawless paint/clear-coat coverage) on the first attempt.
  • Maintains a steady pace of physical output that meets the requirements of the production schedule.
  • Minimizes downtime by transitioning smoothly between production orders.
  • Operates all spray guns, machinery, and equipment using proper ergonomic techniques and PPE to ensure a zero-incident work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Expertly preps, sands, stains, paints, and clear-coats custom doors using specialized spray guns and machinery to deliver a flawless, customer-specified finish.
  • Maintains a steady pace of heavy-duty physical output, effectively maneuvering 50–100 lbs. repeatedly while standing, bending, and stretching throughout the duration of a 2nd shift.
  • Critically solves problems and communicates effectively both one-on-one and within larger groups to ensure the team goes the extra mile to meet the builder's needs.
  • Operates all tools and equipment using proper ergonomic techniques to maintain a clean, organized, and zero-incident workspace.
  • Minimizes production downtime by transitioning smoothly between the finishing line and the Special Millwork department, adaptably tackling odd-and-end orders of all shapes and sizes based on workload.
  • Demonstrates high attention to detail by interpreting complex work orders like a wizard, ensuring all components and fabrications perfectly match specifications through precise math and measurements.
