About The Position

The Factory Automation Engineer at BlueOval SK Stanton, Tennessee will have a unique opportunity to be a key member of the start-up team, assisting with initial launch of new product lines and development of manufacturing processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 0 to 3 yrs. of related experience
  • Ability to support any shift in a 7-day work pattern
  • Candidate must be flexible to significant travel during initial plant start-up phase
  • Successful candidate must be able to demonstrate leadership behaviors consisting of outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, continuous improvement and communication skills
  • Bi-lingual in Korean and English

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Hands-on experience with PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, or similar)
  • Familiarity with MES/EAP, SCADA, HMI, and OPC-UA protocols
  • Strong knowledge of automation design, integration, and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of robotics, industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Profinet), and sensor integration
  • Visual Factory Management

Responsibilities

  • Develop, configure, and optimize PLC, SCADA, HMI and MES/EAP automation systems
  • Integrate automation equipment with IT/OT infrastructure and enterprise systems
  • Design and document automation workflows, control logic, and systems interfaces
  • Install, test, and commission automation hardware/software at the plant level
  • Provide technical support during system go-live and post-deployment stabilization
  • Ensure preventative maintenance and lifecycle management of automation systems
  • Diagnose and resolve system issues, equipment malfunctions, or integration failures
  • Provide on-call and emergency support as required, including off hours
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure system uptime and operational continuity
  • Identify opportunities for automation improvements to reduce downtime and increase throughput
  • Ensure systems comply with safety, quality, delivery and industry regulatory standards
  • Work with management, users, and cross-functional teams to gather system requirements
  • Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, test plans, and system changes
  • Provide training and knowledge transfer to operators and engineering teams
