About The Position

The Facility Technician will provide general mechanical, carpentry, plumbing, & HVAC skills required to perform daily facility tasks. These tasks include, but are not limited to PMs, work orders, and facility projects. Will require working with on-site equipment and vehicles.

Requirements

  • Must submit to and pass a drug test pursuant to Company Drug-Free Workplace Policy which includes random testing
  • Must have good vision (may be corrected)
  • Must have no known hearing loss
  • Must be able to sit/stand/walk for prolonged periods of time
  • Must be able to endure sunshine and weather extremes
  • Must be able to endure fumes that are within OSHA accepted standards
  • Must have stamina to work more than the scheduled workday when needed; including nights and weekends
  • Manual dexterity
  • Able to identify energy sources on equipment and use lockout tagout to properly isolate equipment.
  • Able to coordinate with safety department to obtain green tag when necessary.
  • Able to identify when a hot-work permit is needed and coordinate with safety department to obtain a permit.
  • Able to use maintenance CMMS system to properly create, document and close out work orders. This includes entering asset, time and description of work completed.
  • Able to use maintenance CMMS system to access PM documentation and close out PM work orders with properly documented time and notes.
  • Able to assess a job and identify the proper tools & material necessary to complete the job.
  • Able to operate forklift and pass onsite forklift training.
  • Able to assist on PM’s and Parts changing as needed.
  • Able to adequately complete plant PM’s as necessary with little to no supervision.
  • Able to work with a trainer and take instruction.
  • Able to follow all plant safety policy and have a safe work record.
  • Have good interpersonal skills
  • Able to resolve issues on their own.
  • Able to troubleshoot basic HVAC & plumbing issues.
  • Able to install new fixtures as necessary (plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, etc.)
  • Ability to assess plant condition and complete unassigned tasks as needed.
  • Have a safe work record.
  • Able to perform other duties as assigned.
  • Must understand mechanical concepts and be able to assist maintenance mechanics

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily facility tasks including PMs, work orders, and facility projects.
  • Utilize mechanical, carpentry, plumbing, and HVAC skills.
  • Work with on-site equipment and vehicles.
  • Identify energy sources on equipment and use lockout tagout to properly isolate equipment.
  • Coordinate with the safety department to obtain green tags and hot-work permits when necessary.
  • Use the maintenance CMMS system to create, document, and close out work orders, including entering asset, time, and description of work completed.
  • Access PM documentation and close out PM work orders with properly documented time and notes using the maintenance CMMS system.
  • Assess jobs and identify the proper tools and materials necessary for completion.
  • Operate a forklift and pass onsite forklift training.
  • Assist with PMs and parts changing as needed.
  • Adequately complete plant PMs with little to no supervision.
  • Work with a trainer and take instruction.
  • Follow all plant safety policies and maintain a safe work record.
  • Resolve issues independently.
  • Troubleshoot basic HVAC and plumbing issues.
  • Install new fixtures as necessary (plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, etc.).
  • Assess plant condition and complete unassigned tasks as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Understand mechanical concepts and assist maintenance mechanics.
