About The Position

Clean Harbors is seeking a safely oriented, mechanically inclined Chemical Operator for its El Dorado, Arkansas team. The position involves monitoring and documenting operating units on a schedule, using loaders to move ash boxes, connecting tankers, and troubleshooting loss of flow in pneumatic systems and other pumps. The role performs facility operations in compliance with safety, environmental, and production requirements, and may provide training or mentorship to other Facility Technicians.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Mechanically inclined.
Able to troubleshoot various pumps.
Must be safety oriented.
Able to work as a team player and communicate with various groups simultaneously.
Must be able to work a rotating shift that includes days and nights.
Able to lift up to 50 pounds, sit or stand for long periods, work in all weather conditions, and work at heights.

Nice To Haves

Flow control knowledge is an asset.
One or more years of plant experience preferred.
Six months of experience operating a heavy loader, skid steer, bucket loader, front-end loader, or similar equipment.

Responsibilities

Perform basic operations, including opening and inspecting drums, loading and unloading tank farm trucks, processing waste in accordance with segregation requirements, and operating automated PLC-controlled equipment and filter presses.
Meet or exceed safety, compliance, and production goals.
Provide training and/or mentorship to other Facility Technicians.
Complete and submit paperwork for tracking tanks and product.
Maintain proper inventory warehousing and scanning, and use WinWeb or a comparable inventory enterprise program.
Operate a forklift or heavy loader when necessary.
Perform and document a daily safety check before operating equipment.
Understand and take ownership of area-specific permit-required compliance standards.
Maintain a clean work environment.
