About The Position

Safety-Kleen, a Clean Harbors company, in Santa Ana, CA, is currently hiring for entry-level Facility Technicians to join our team! This position is responsible for performing a variety of labor, material handling, waste processing, and facility support duties in a fast-paced industrial environment. The successful candidate will work with both hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams while maintaining compliance with all safety, environmental, and operational procedures. Requirements

  • Ability to work safely in an industrial environment
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to wear required PPE, including a respirator
  • Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling materials weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and work on feet for extended periods throughout the shift
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to work any assigned shift

Nice To Haves

  • Prior warehouse, manufacturing, environmental services, waste management, medical waste, or industrial labor experience
  • Forklift or material handling equipment experience
  • Experience working in a safety-sensitive environment

Responsibilities

  • Handle, sort, move, and process hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials
  • Perform waste container handling, staging, labeling, and inventory activities
  • Load and unload materials and containers in accordance with company procedures
  • Inspect containers and work areas to ensure compliance with safety and environmental requirements
  • Operate equipment and tools as trained and authorized
  • Maintain housekeeping standards throughout the facility
  • Assist with facility operations and general labor activities as assigned
  • Lift, carry, push, pull, and move materials, containers, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Follow all company, OSHA, DOT, EPA, and site-specific safety requirements
  • Utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE) while performing job duties
  • Work safely in an industrial environment with exposure to strong odors and waste materials
