About The Position

This position is a Union position with a pay of $23.69/hr. The primary shift is day shift, Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM. However, due to seniority and shift bids, there is a possibility the selected candidate could be placed on night shift, Monday through Thursday from 4:00 PM – 2:00 AM, either temporarily or permanently. The Facility Technician I reports directly to the Plant Foreman or Operations Supervisor and is responsible for performing hands-on operational duties within the facility. This role supports daily waste handling operations including drum pumping, drum dumping, tank farm operations, van offloading, waste consolidation, and warehouse activities while ensuring compliance with all applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong attention to safety and compliance procedures
  • Ability to follow operational processes and instructions
  • Frequently required to stand, pull, push, carry, reach, stoop, crouch, speak, listen, taste, or smell
  • Occasionally required to sit, climb, walk, lift, grasp, crawl, and perform near vision activities
  • Must be able to pass a respirator fit test

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift training preferred
  • DOT training preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic facility operations including: Drum movement and drum opening
  • Tank farm truck loading and unloading in compliance with DOT segregation requirements
  • Waste consolidation
  • Compactor operations
  • Proper inventory warehousing
  • Operate a forklift when necessary
  • Perform and document daily safety inspections prior to equipment operation
  • Complete and submit all required paperwork associated with waste tracking and material movements
  • Utilize scanning applications for dumping and pumping activities
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with Health and Safety Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Review applicable SOPs and successfully complete required quizzes and training
  • Maintain ownership and understanding of area-specific permit compliance standards
  • Meet or exceed established production goals
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Perform additional duties and assignments as directed by management
  • Understand and comply with Clean Compliance Standards
