About The Position

We are seeking a proactive and highly organized Site (Facility) Support Specialist to support operations at our Richmond, VA site. This role is responsible for independently coordinating and driving the safe, effective completion of site tasks and projects that support Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) performance. The Facility Support Specialist will lead the planning, coordination, and execution of facilities-, maintenance-, contractor-, and safety-related activities, while also supporting broader operational needs across the site. This role requires strong judgment, the ability to manage competing priorities, and the ability to work across functions to remove barriers and keep work moving. The successful candidate will work closely with hourly and salaried employees, shop leadership, site leadership, and external contractors to ensure work is properly scoped, prioritized, planned, and executed in alignment with company EHS standards and site expectations. This role also plays a key part in developing and improving site processes, contractor readiness, and execution discipline from task identification through completion.

Requirements

  • Minimal Education: High School Diploma / GED
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in coordinating vendor or supplier requests related to facilities, maintenance repairs, construction safety, or similar responsibilities which may include military background & disciplines
  • Must be able to successfully pass a drug screen and background check
  • This position is 100% onsite in Richmond, VA

Responsibilities

  • Independently translate site needs from shop floor personnel, office teams, EHS and Quality concerns, work orders, and project requests into clearly defined tasks, work scopes, and actionable project plans
  • Coordinate and drive execution of facilities, maintenance, safety, and site improvement activities in support of site SQDC goals
  • Prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, maintaining clear visibility of status, risks, roadblocks, and completion plans
  • Serve as a primary coordination point between contractors, shop leaders, and site leadership to ensure alignment, communication, and effective execution
  • Ensure contractors arrive prepared with required equipment, utilities, access, permits, and job-specific information necessary to complete work safely and efficiently
  • Maintain accountability for contractor performance, schedule adherence, work quality, and compliance with site standards and expectations
  • Provide field oversight of contractor activities and serve as the primary field contract administrator for relevant contractor work
  • Integrate safety requirements early in planning and execution to reduce risk, prevent avoidable disruption, and support safe, practical work outcomes
  • Reinforce compliance with GE Vernova EHS safety standards, policies, and procedures, particularly for contractor and project work
  • Develop, implement, and improve contractor onboarding and intake processes to support consistent and effective work execution
  • Create, standardize, and maintain pre-work planning tools, including hazard identification, job requirements, and readiness checks
  • Improve systems, create standard work, and visual management processes that increase visibility for maintenance, production, and site operations teams
  • Coach team members on the effective use of site systems, tools, and planning processes
  • Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements that enhance safety, execution, efficiency, and overall site performance
  • Operate independently while keeping leadership informed of progress, issues, and support needed to overcome roadblocks
