The Nevada Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS) is recruiting for a Facility Supervisor 3 at the Nevada Youth Training Center (NYTC), a 64-bed staff-secure juvenile facility in Elko, NV. NYTC focuses on positive youth development through education, therapeutic treatment, and medical and mental health services, guided by three core values: Be Accountable, Be Respectful, and Be NYTC (Navigate Your True Character). The Facility Supervisor 3 oversees maintenance repair specialists and custodial staff, directing building and grounds maintenance. Responsibilities include supervising and evaluating staff; assigning and reviewing work; coordinating skilled labor such as carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and sprinkler system repair; managing contracted maintenance; identifying future facility needs; preparing maintenance budgets; ensuring compliance with codes and safety regulations; and maintaining inventories, records, and work schedules. DCFS partners with families, communities, and agencies to support Nevada’s children and families. Its programs include rural child welfare services, oversight of county child welfare operations, children’s mental and behavioral health services, and statewide juvenile justice services. DCFS is a large, mission-driven organization dedicated to strengthening families and communities. Facility Supervisors/Managers plan, organize and direct buildings and grounds maintenance, repair, custodial work, security functions, fleet maintenance, and at the higher levels, capital improvements at assigned facilities. Incumbents supervise both skilled and semi-skilled personnel performing work in a variety of disciplines. These positions are located at State institutions of various sizes used by clients and staff, to include museums, major prison facilities, major university campuses and smaller satellite campuses; and some positions are responsible for a statewide or regional network of facilities.
