About The Position

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is one of the largest, most complex agencies in the state, and has approximately 17,000 employees. It is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all North Carolinians, providing human service needs for special populations including individuals who are deaf, blind, developmentally disabled, and mentally ill, and helping poor North Carolinians achieve economic independence. The Financial Manager is responsible for providing direction and overall management for a team of financial analysts to support the Provider Reimbursements Unit within the Finance Section of DHB. This position is primarily responsible for supervising rate setting, waivers, SPAs, oversee and perform financial analysis, and other reimbursement needs for a set of Medicaid Programs to establish reimbursement rates. In addition, he or she is responsible for coordinating with other unit management to obtain input and provide guidance pertaining to rate setting for facility services, non-facility services and managed care and waivers. The manager will be responsible for researching, understanding, and interpreting state and federal regulations for programs and keeping up to date with the frequent need to modify the regulations for changes to the respective programs. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, banking, finance, business administration, economics, or related discipline from an accredited institution and 3 years of directly related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities
