About The Position

We are an early-stage defense AI company building the vendor-neutral operating system for agentic AI in high-consequence environments. We have secured multiple prime contracts across the U.S. Government, with deployments into classified spaces. We are seeking a Facility Security Officer (FSO) to establish and lead our industrial security program. This role is crucial for managing DCSA interfaces, scaling the security program during rapid growth, and overseeing the design and accreditation of our first Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF). This position requires an active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance with a Full Scope Polygraph.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an FSO or Assistant FSO supporting Department of Defense (DoD) and/or Intelligence Community programs
  • FSO Program Management for Possessing Facilities certification (CDSE) or the ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
  • Working knowledge of NISPOM, Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs) including ICD 705, and DCSA compliance requirements
  • Proficiency with DISS, NISS, eQIP, and associated personnel security systems
  • Must be based in the National Capital Region

Nice To Haves

  • Experience establishing an industrial security program within a startup or small business environment

  • Background as a CPSO supporting SCI or SAP programs
  • Experience navigating multiple customer security regimes (IC, DoD, civilian) concurrently
  • Familiarity with classified IT security, cross-domain solutions, or COMSEC custodianship

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary interface with the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) and customer security stakeholders, ensuring NISPOM compliance, conducting self-inspections, managing audits, and maintaining relationships to facilitate program progression.
  • Administer the full personnel security lifecycle, including DISS, NISS, eQIP, clearance processing, crossovers, visit requests, indoctrinations, and debriefings, scaling these processes as headcount increases.
  • Manage classified contract security, including DD254 review, development of contract-specific security plans, and adherence to operational requirements derived from program classification guides.
  • Establish and manage the Insider Threat Program and the Security Education, Training, and Awareness (SETA) program, designed to adapt to the company's projected growth.
  • Lead the design, construction, and ICD 705 accreditation of the company's first SCIF, managing the process from initial concept through to sustained operations.
  • Develop scalable procedures that support current headcount and future growth, integrating compliance as a core operational feature rather than a hindrance.
