About The Position

MetaPhase is seeking a Facility Security Officer (FSO) to oversee and manage the firm’s industrial security program in alignment with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and other federal security directives. The FSO will play a key role in ensuring MetaPhase's compliance with security regulations, facilitating the clearance process for employees, and fostering a culture of security awareness. This is a high-impact role that supports internal operations and external client delivery by enabling a cleared, compliant, and ready workforce. Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship required (NO EXCEPTIONS).
  • Active Facility Security Officer certification or training (e.g., CDSE FSO curriculum).
  • 5+ years of experience managing a DoD industrial security program.
  • In-depth knowledge of NISPOM, DoD 5205.07 manuals, and general industrial security regulations.
  • Proficiency with security databases including DISS, eQIP, NISS, ACCS.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage and safeguard sensitive information.
  • Experience conducting security education and training programs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interface with senior leadership, delivery teams, and government customers confidently and professionally.

Nice To Haves

  • Active DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance.
  • Experience supporting cleared federal consulting environments or cleared contract portfolios.
  • Familiarity with SCIF accreditation processes.
  • Understanding of ISO 27001, CMMC, or related compliance frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all facility and personnel security matters under the NISP, ensuring compliance with DoD Manual 5205.07, NISPOM, and related regulations.
  • Maintain and administer security programs including personnel security, visitor control, clearance processing, and classified document control.
  • Conduct security briefings including initial, annual, foreign travel, and debriefings.
  • Oversee the use of DISS, eQIP, NISS, and ACCS for processing personnel clearances and managing security records.
  • Manage Visit Authorization Requests (VARs), DD254s, and other classified contract documentation.
  • Partner with Recruiting and HR to validate clearance levels of candidates and staff during hiring and onboarding.
  • Develop and maintain internal security policies, procedures, and SOPs in alignment with evolving regulations and company growth.
  • Serve as the internal expert and advisor on insider threat, secure storage requirements, SCIF coordination, and self-inspections.
  • Provide regular training and awareness communications to staff and leadership regarding security responsibilities and updates.
  • Escalate security risks and incidents appropriately and work with leadership to resolve or mitigate.
