About The Position

Under general supervision, the Facility Security Corporal guards, patrols, or monitors premises, facilities, and other areas to prevent theft, violence, and infractions of rules. The role secures and protects the facility in the event of fires, natural disasters, or other hazardous events. The position is at East Central Regional Hospital in Augusta, Georgia, and lists a work shift of 3:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• One year of job-related experience.
• Some positions may require Georgia P.O.S.T. certification.
• Some positions may require area-specific certifications or eligibility.
• Drug screening, TB evaluation, and annual influenza vaccination may be required; limited exemptions may be made for documented medical contraindications or religious beliefs.
• A national and state background check is required as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Answer alarms and investigate disturbances.
• Escort or drive a motor vehicle to transport individuals to specified locations and provide personal protection.
• Inspect assigned areas for fire or environmental hazards.
• Monitor and authorize the entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to maintain premises security.
• Patrol premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure the security of doors, windows, and gates.
• Respond to fires, natural disasters, or other hazardous events.
• Warn people of rule infractions or violations, and apprehend or evict violators from the premises, using force if necessary.
• Write reports of daily activities and irregularities.
