DEFTEC's Facility Planner/Transition Beddown- Senior serves as a key member of the USSPACECOM Transition Team, driving the Command's sequenced move from Colorado Springs to Redstone. The role synthesizes mission and facility requirements into decision-ready courses of action and maintains an integrated transition plan and schedule for senior leadership. Coordinates across USSPACECOM/Department of Public Works (DPW)/ Missile Defense Agency (MDA)/Army Contracting Command (ACC) and internal stakeholders, supports Government funding strategy development, and, at Government direction, arranges interim facility services without committing the Government.

Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree
  • 15+ years leading HQ-level facilities portfolios and transitions within DoD, including FSRM/SRM planning and execution, with exposure to MILCON planning in support of COCOM beddown.
  • Proven USSPACECOM experience coordinating across Joint Directorates and external partners to collect and validate mission/facility requirements, develop courses of action and decision-ready briefs, and maintain transition plans and schedules/IMS inputs.
  • Demonstrated expertise in secure facility (SCIF/SAP) operations, cross-functional leadership (engineering/logistics/ops), and budgeting/programming inputs within PPBE-aligned processes.
  • Security Clearance TS/SCI

Responsibilities

  • Collect and synthesize preliminary transition data from internal and external stakeholders
  • Conduct analysis of infrastructure, personnel, logistics, and mission support requirements
  • Consider and collect data on multiple variables, to include space utilization, utility costs, reimbursable cost, IT costs, construction costs, etc
  • Develop and evaluate multiple courses of action (COAs) for transition execution
  • Respond to formal taskers and coordinate inputs across functional areas
  • Prepare and deliver high-impact briefings to inform command-level decisions
  • Collaborate with installation support teams, engineering units, and strategic planners
