About The Position

Ergon Asphalt & Emulsions is seeking a full-time Facility Operator for its Memphis, TN, facility. This role involves working with a team to produce high-quality asphalt binder and asphalt oil for paving repair customers. The position requires individuals who enjoy working outdoors in various weather conditions and are willing to learn new skills. The company emphasizes a relationship-driving culture and a small company feel despite its size and locations across the U.S. and Mexico. This is not an office-based job; it requires hands-on work in the tank farm, ensuring product quality, and loading/unloading materials.

Requirements

A high school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to work without supervision.
Ability to read and follow written instructions.
Basic math skills (e.g., add, subtract, multiply, divide).
Ability to learn computer skills.
Able to lift 50 lbs. with assistance and perform jobs that involve lifting, bending, climbing tanks, and other structures.
Valid driver's license.
Able to work the days and hours as scheduled.
Outdoor work in all seasons.
Applicants must be authorized to work in the US.

Responsibilities

Input quality specifications and batch data into reports.
Sample product quality.
Load and unload trucks and railcars.
Conduct minor maintenance on equipment in the plant (pumps, racks, mixers).
Attend and participate in daily productive/quality/EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) meetings.
Utilize proactive tools (safety checklist, etc.).
Ensure good facility housekeeping.
Stay current on required training.
Wear appropriate, provided PPE (hard hat, face shield, long-sleeve shirt, H2S monitor, steel toe boots, safety glasses).
Effectively communicate between fellow operators, management, the trucking company, and customers to meet needs.
