About The Position

As Facility Operator, you are responsible for monitoring facility and blend operations and ensuring product quality in compliance with all safety standards and government regulations. This role ensures facility operations and tank farm blending activities are maintained at a high level of efficiency. This position is based at our Alida Terminal.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, General Education Diploma (GED), or equivalent.
  • Valid and acceptable driver’s license with successful completion of pre-employment testing.
  • Current and valid safety certifications, including: H2S Alive, First Aid, Confined Space Entry, WHMIS and TDG, Ground Disturbance, Incident Command System (ICS)
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills, with the ability to ensure consistent communication with the Facility Manager and key stakeholders.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively and demonstrate sound decision-making under pressure.
  • Proven capability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Commitment to safe work practices and excellent customer service standards.
  • Strong teaching and mentorship skills to guide others in plant processes.
  • High level of integrity and accountability to the Lead Operator and Facility Manager.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safe, reliable, and efficient pipeline operations.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and continuously monitor the facility and blend operations via SCADA control with limited supervision.
  • Ensure accurate, on-spec blending of multiple products.
  • Execute daily pumping schedules and blending requirements.
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to abnormal operating conditions and emergency situations.
  • Log all pertinent day-to-day operational data.
  • Communicate shift information effectively during handover.
  • Prioritize and manage console activities.
  • Perform plant rounds and equipment checks.
  • Conduct visitor and contractor orientations.
  • Complete work permits and job hazard assessments as required.
  • Perform basic product sampling and laboratory tests.
  • Carry out day-to-day site activities, including minor maintenance tasks and housekeeping.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Evaluate contractor performance.
  • Participate in Emergency Response Plan (ERP) training exercises, and assist with ERP manual updates as required.
  • Contribute to updates of operating manuals and equipment books.
  • Participate in incident reporting and resolution.
