About The Position

Ergon Asphalt & Emulsions is seeking a full-time Facility Operator at our Pasco, WA facility. This role involves producing neat and polymer-modified asphalt oil for sale to paving and repair customers. The position works as a team with other operators in the outdoor tank farm and inside the lab to produce, process, ensure quality, and load/unload materials directly to our customers. This is not an office-based job; it requires individuals who enjoy working outdoors in various weather conditions. The company is family-owned with locations throughout the U.S. and Mexico, valuing employee growth and teamwork.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work with little supervision
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions
  • Basic math skills (e.g., add, subtract, multiply, divide)
  • Ability to learn computer skills
  • Able to meet physical requirements of the role including standing or walking for long periods, lift 50 pounds with assistance, and perform jobs that involve lifting, bending, and climbing ladders, tanks and other outdoor structures
  • Valid US driver's license
  • Able to work days and hours as scheduled, Monday through Friday; some weekends.
  • Outdoor work in all seasons and potentially adverse weather conditions
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the US
  • Any employment offers are contingent upon a pre-employment drug test, background check, and MVR.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with product testing and quality control in the lab
  • Collect and evaluate product samples
  • Enter production and quality data into reporting systems
  • Load and unload trucks and railcars
  • Conduct minor maintenance on equipment in the plant (pumps, racks, mixers)
  • Attend and participate in daily production/quality/EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) meetings
  • Follow environmental, health, and safety procedures
  • Utilize proactive tools (safety checklist, etc)
  • Maintain facility cleanliness and organization
  • Complete required training and certifications
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Communicate effectively with coworkers, management, transportation partners, and customers
