About The Position

Join the Civic Arena Staff as a Facility Operator! In this upbeat position, you’ll be responsible for maintaining the arena’s security, cleanliness, and equipment, all while gaining valuable skills in ice operations. This position requires indoor and outdoor work, under all types of weather conditions. Scheduled shifts include evenings and weekends; up to 24 hours per Week

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience and knowledge of mechanical equipment and repairs
• Previous experience sharpening skates
• Two years’ experience driving a resurfacer

Responsibilities

• Maintaining order in the Civic Arena
• Prevention of damage to the building and equipment, such as light fixtures, doors, windows, vending machines, pay phones
• Checking on the ice making machinery and taking log readings at the appropriate times
• Driving the resurfacer during the scheduled ice making times
• Ensuring cleanliness of the Civic Arena during assigned shift and at the end of night
• Assisting concession stand worker in any possible way such as getting supplies, extra change and repair of machinery
• Providing cleaning and building supplies request forms to supervisor
• Picking up trash outside the building and grounds
• Other duties as assigned
