About The Position

Join the AmFam Facilities Systems team and you will learn new skills and stretch yourself technically as you maintain and improve our world class facilities! We currently have openings at our National Headquarters facility, located in Madison, WI. Day-to-day, you will be part of a team that is responsible for operating and maintaining numerous AmFam owned buildings primarily in the Madison WI area. Your team will focus on both basic and advanced service and preventative maintenance of mechanical (HVAC), electrical, plumbing, building automation and kitchen repair. You will oversee the comfort, safety, and reliability of engineering services to regional customers while ensuring those regional business operations are not interrupted. Demonstrated depth and diversity of skills is expected. A desire to take your knowledge to the next level is a requirement. This position is Monday through Friday. In this primarily office-based role, you will be expected to spend at least 80% of your time (4+ days per week) working from one of the following office locations(s): Madison, WI 53783

Requirements

  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in one of the following Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) maintenance and repair in commercial, industrial, or institutional facilities.
  • Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Valid driver's license required plus an acceptable driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with building automation systems (BAS).
  • Experience with computerized maintenance/work order systems (CMMS).
  • HVAC, Electrical or Plumbing certifications/licenses.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate preventative maintenance which may include inspecting, monitoring and fixing.
  • Oversee water heating and cooling systems which includes inspections, maintenance and changing settings.
  • Perform authorized building automation system functions to include start/stop sequencing of equipment, set point overrides, alarm/temperature monitoring, and diagnostics.
  • Handle electrical requirements which may include testing generators and materials, disconnecting and reconnecting electrically powered appliances and installs low voltage data and phone cable throughout work environments.
  • Oversee operation of on call emergency service response.
  • Serve as a first responder for problems involving plumbing and kitchen problems dealing with plumbing systems, water heaters and softeners and appliances.
  • Inspect, clean, repair and convert all air and fuel distribution systems.
