About The Position

This position is located at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Duties include planning and coordinating all work requirements to maintain patient care buildings. Overseeing facility management resources including personnel, service contracts, financial programs, space utilization, and information resources. Maintaining a safe environment and implementing systematic processes that identify and eliminate safety hazards to patients, staff, and visitors. Attending staff meetings, working groups, and coordinating with various personnel to accomplish facility work. Performing diagnostic inspections of facility structures, related electrical and mechanical systems and equipment, and preparing necessary inspection reports and narrative assessments of facility conditions.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
  • A pre-placement medical examination is required.
  • Annual physical examinations are required.
  • Immunization screening is required.
  • Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact.
  • Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid stateside driver's license.
  • One year of specialized experience which includes performing maintenance, repair, or construction work of facilities or grounds; maintaining maintenance records; and conducting inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in engineering, industrial arts, property management, or business administration.
  • A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
  • You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
  • This position requires a 1 year probationary period during which the agency evaluates your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest.
  • Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
