About The Position

We are looking for a talented Facility Operations & Maintenance Group Leader to join our team specializing in Facilities for our CDBS (Cummins Drivetrain and Braking Systems) location at Troy, MI. In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: Action Oriented: Drive rapid progress by tackling challenges with urgency, energy, and a proactive mindset that keeps facility operations moving forward. Emergency Preparedness: Strengthen site resilience by managing emergency systems, identifying risks, and ensuring the facility is prepared for events like power outages, floods, or fires. Environmental Stewardship: Advance sustainability by developing programs that reduce environmental impact and align with recognized stewardship standards. Facilities Design & Maintenance: Elevate facility performance by overseeing design, construction, preventive maintenance, and asset‑management systems that support long‑term reliability. Data‑Driven Project Leadership: Apply analytics and project‑management discipline to optimize operations, guide investment decisions, and ensure projects deliver measurable results.

Requirements

• College, university, or equivalent degree in Marketing, Sales, technical or a related subject or an acceptable combination of education and experience required.
• This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
• Significant level of relevant work experience required, including previous customer and/or product experience required.
• Demonstrated experience supervising skilled trades in an operational facilities or manufacturing environment
• Strong working knowledge of building systems and maintenance practices (mechanical, electrical, HVAC, life safety)
• Ability to balance complex compliance requirements with practical, real-world operations
• Proficiency with basic computer systems (email, spreadsheets, work order systems) and comfort working in a structured corporate environment

Nice To Haves

• Purchasing/commercial contract negotiation preferred.
• Previous exposure to capital project coordination and large-scale facility improvements.

Responsibilities

• Provides hands-on leadership to the maintenance team and onsite security staff, fostering a collaborative, practical, and solutions-oriented work environment that supports safe, secure, and reliable day-to-day operations.
• Oversees preventive and corrective maintenance activities, ensuring work is prioritized appropriately to minimize operational disruption while maintaining compliance with corporate standards.
• Supports the continued rollout and stabilization of the site’s CMMS, ensuring work orders, preventive maintenance tasks, and asset data are maintained accurately and used effectively to support maintenance decision-making.
