About The Position

At Stony Brook Medicine, a Facility Operations Assistant 1 performs a variety of routine manual tasks, requiring medium to heavy physical effort, to assist in maintaining, constructing, and repairing buildings, roads, offices, other structures, furniture, facilities, and grounds. This position is full-time and operates on the night shift. Stony Brook Medicine is a smoke-free environment, and smoking is strictly prohibited anywhere on campus. All hospital positions may be subject to changes in pass days and shifts. This position may require the wearing of respiratory protection, which may prohibit facial hair. It may also be designated as "essential," meaning employees may be required to remain at or report to work during institutional emergencies to protect, recover, and continue operations.

Requirements

Must be physically able to perform the duties assigned.
Ability to read, write, speak and understand verbal communication at a basic level.
Successfully complete pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook Medicine's Employee Health Services.
Complete electronic reference check with a minimum of three (3) professional references.
Successfully complete a 4 panel drug screen.
Meet Regulatory Requirements for pre employment screenings.
Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s).
