The Central Plant Boiler Room Maintenance Engineer oversees the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of industrial boiler systems and associated equipment in a central power or heating plant. Responsibilities include supervising start up/shutdown procedures, monitoring performance, executing preventive maintenance programs, performing predictive diagnostics (e.g., vibration analysis, thermography), troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical or control failures, and ensuring compliance with ASME, NFPA, OSHA and EPA regulations. The role also requires maintaining detailed logs and reports, leading safety practices, and supporting plant projects such as retrofits or new boiler installations. Candidates needs extensive experience in mechanical/chemical engineering, at least five years of hands on boiler experience (≥â¯5â¯MW), relevant certifications (ASME inspector, OSHAâ¯30, EPA boiler compliance), and strong technical, analytical and safety skills. Performance is measured by boiler availability, combustion efficiency, emission compliance, maintenance compliance and safety record.
