Carolinas Rehab - Facility Nurse Educator
About The Position
The Facility Nurse Educator collaborates with nursing leadership to assess the orientation and continuing education needs of the nursing team. This role involves developing and conducting facility-specific orientation for both licensed and non-licensed nursing staff, and facilitating new employee orientation and reunion sessions as part of service excellence initiatives. The educator designs programs to enhance nursing practice and ensures learners comply with licensure and certification requirements. They also coordinate with Nurse Managers for student placements, orientation, and preceptorships for undergraduate and graduate students, utilizing adult education principles to plan, design, and implement educational activities based on identified learning needs.
Requirements
- Current applicable state RN licensure required.
- BSN required.
- 3 years clinical experience in related area (OR, ER, acute care) required.
- BLS required per policy guidelines.
Nice To Haves
- Specialty certification may be preferred or required for specific area (e.g., Med Ctr Air Flight Nurse Educator).
Responsibilities
- Collaborates with nursing leadership to assess needs for orientation and continuing education needs for nursing team.
- Develops and conducts facility specific orientation for licensed and non-licensed nursing team.
- Facilitates 30 day new employee orientation and 90 day reunion sessions as part of the facility service excellence initiatives.
- Designs programs that enhance the practice of nursing; assists the learner to comply with licensure and certification requirements.
- Coordinates with Nurse Managers to place students, orient students, and organize preceptorships for undergraduate and graduate students.
- Utilizes adult education principles, plans, designs, and implements educational activities based on identified learning needs.
- Works as a program Planner.
- Assesses learning needs through direct observation, formal needs assessment, and program evaluation or other organizational activity reports.
