About The Position

nou Systems, Inc. (nSI) is seeking a Facility Mission Engineer to support operations at the Missile Defense Integration and Operations Center (MDIOC). The MDIOC provides mission-essential system infrastructure and subject-matter expertise in an adaptable environment that enables developers, testers, and operators to evolve, assess, and rapidly deliver capabilities supporting layered missile defense operations. As part of the Engineering Services Division, this role involves supporting the Missile Defense Agency in maintaining and advancing critical facility, infrastructure, and mission-support systems. The position requires deep technical leadership, cross-functional coordination, and proactive engagement with mission partners across MDA and joint organizations. Occasional support outside normal working hours may be required for maintenance, power cycles, system outages, or emergency facility events, while maintaining an average 40-hour workweek.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship required
  • Master’s degree in a STEM field and 12+ years of engineering experience
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor’s in STEM with 20+ years of experience may be considered
  • Demonstrated experience providing technical authority, advanced systems engineering leadership, and enterprise-level integration
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, executive-level)
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and resolve complex technical challenges
  • Active Secret clearance (or ability to obtain one)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting MDIOC, MDA, or other missile defense or high-availability operational environment
  • Experience with digital engineering/MBSE and enterprise system integration
  • Familiarity with DoD facility operations, mission assurance, and risk management

Responsibilities

  • Delivering strategic and financial leadership for long-range modernization planning, roadmap development, and budget justification
  • Establishing and leading advanced systems engineering efforts, including system-of-systems integration strategies and high-level technical architecture development
  • Serving as a technical authority for engineering standards, technical review boards, and program-level decision processes
  • Providing advanced digital engineering and MBSE leadership for mission-essential infrastructure development
  • Guiding internal management and operations processes, cross-functional engineering integration, and facility-wide technical alignment
  • Supporting MDIOC mission functions including modeling & simulation support, event execution, enterprise services, network/data center services, cyber operations, and test operations centers
  • Leading cross-agency technical coordination to ensure facility readiness for test events, distributed operations, and multi-domain mission execution
  • Coordinating and supporting after-hours maintenance, upgrade windows, and emergency response actions as needed
